6th Tee box renovation

In November, we stripped the back tee on six and began construction of a new tee.  The old tee suffered from poor drainage, light and air flow.  It was also severely aligned to the right.  For the new  tee we added drainage and imported a 6:2:2 (sand:soil:peat) mix.

The sub-surface of the new tee was pitched 1% to the left to allow water to move into 4" drains lines that were placed in to 8" wide trenches and filled with drain stone.  The drains run out the back of the tee and drain excess water into the marsh.

It took almost 100 tons of soil to fill new tee.  The new soil was tamped and laser leveled in preparation for new sod.

We still have some clean up to do in the areas around the tee but the sod is down. The new tee is 81ft by 30 ft. and should be ready for play some time this coming spring
